Madrid, Spain, July 08, 2013 - Spanish company SGO is being used to adapt the film Star Trek Into Darkness to 3D format.

The latest film from US director and producer J.J. Abrahams is opening in Spain today, and a Spanish firm has been contracted to supply the software to convert the movie into a 3D experience.

The company SGO (Soluciones Gráficas por Ordenador), which has a subsidiary in London and will shortly be opening another in the United States, owns the 100% Spanish software called Mistika, which is the world's most advanced stereoscopic production tool. We are three years ahead of our competitors and we are updating our software every six months, explained Ángel Pérez, the company's head of sales.

With this digital solution, SGO has already been involved in films such as Tintin by Steven Spielberg; The Hobbit by Peter Jackson; Asterix andSpiderman. According to Pérez, this is yet another victory for the Marca España.

The American producer of Star Trek Into Darkness said: Mistika has opened up a world of creative possibilities and makes an essential contribution to any project we undertake. I am impressed by the incomparable stereo 3D capacity of this Spanish technology.

The company is not only exporting its technology (some 85% of its sales are outside Spain), but also specialists and a great deal of talent. We send Spaniards to work with production companies and end up being contracted as specialists.
