Retired LTG Patrick O’Reilly Consults Leaders in New Role

Retired General Patrick O’Reilly has always been a leader throughout his career as a Commissioned Officer. Now, Patrick O’Reilly is sharing his experience as a consultant to industry and university leaders

 
Retired LT Gen Patrick O’Reilly has been a Commissioned Officer for the United States Army for 34 years. Throughout his career, retired LTG Patrick O’Reilly has held many leadership positions and roles that demonstrated a strong work ethic, excellent managerial skills, and proved him to be an outstanding leader in very challenging circumstances. General Patrick O’Reilly has contributed greatly to historical developments in the U.S. military and missile defense policies. Patrick O’Reilly has been recognized by the Department of Defense and Congressman Mo Brooks of Alabama for his achievements in this field.

LTG Patrick O’Reilly started his career in the U.S Army with an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Science. “My preparation as an officer at West Point was the key to my long and successful career in the military,” says LTG Patrick O’Reilly. After graduating from the U.S. Military Academy in 1978, General Patrick O’Reilly went on to obtain Master’s Degrees in Physics, National Security and Strategic Studies, and Management.

LT Gen Patrick O’Reilly was assigned significant leadership responsibilities early in his Army career such as Maintenance Shop Manager in the First Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, Commander of a Heavy Maintenance Company in Germany, Associate Professor at West Point, and Project Manager of Directed Energy Systems, PATRIOT Advanced Capability 3, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) and, the Ground-Based Missile Defense Programs. LTG O’Reilly also served as the Program Executive Officer of Army Combat Support and Combat Service Support Systems.

This experience led LTG Patrick O’Reilly to his nomination by the President of the United States, and confirmation by the U.S. Senate, as Director of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency. In this role, General Patrick O’Reilly was responsible for leading 8,000 people in a $3 billion per year, globally deployed, Federal agency. The experience gained through this position was invaluable, and Patrick O’Reilly made great and historical contributions to the country’s missile defense systems. Today, he is recognized for his accomplishments throughout his military career.
