We live in a society that is consumed with the idea of convenience. This growing epidemic has led to increased laziness, which is ultimately leading to a multitude of health concerns throughout our country. Yemane Abraham is a health and fitness enthusiast who was once consumed by this growing problem, but took the initiative to break away and pursue a healthy lifestyle. Although it is difficult to break the mold, Yemane Abraham notes that there is hope. The journey towards a healthier you will not be easy, but Yemane Abraham hopes to speak out and inspire others with his story of triumph.

Yemane Abraham talked about his journey towards good health, he stated, “I was never good at sports or physical activities in general. I viewed exercise as a chore, not a leisure activity. I constantly made excuses to not get healthy, which eventually would become a growing problem in my life. As I got older, I knew I had to make some changes. I started hiking, which I actually enjoyed. It was so fulfilling to know I could exercise and not dislike it the entire time. Once I started exercising, the nutritional aspect fell into place. I was now eating to fuel my body instead of for emotional satisfaction. I guess I would say that my journey to good health worked in a domino effect, but either way I am happy with the decisions I made to initiate the change.”

Many people come to Yemane Abraham and ask him what they can do to start changing their lives. Yemane Abraham has served as an inspiration for several people throughout his community, and he wants to help guide them to initiate their own journey towards a healthy lifestyle. Yemane Abraham gave general advice to those wanting to spark the change in their own lives, he stated, “I think the most important thing is to find a physical activity that you are passionate about. I know it may seem impossible, but you do not have to run on a treadmill for hours to see results. Start slow. If you have to walk, then walk. No matter what you decide to do, make sure you enjoy it.”
