The renewable energy in the Philippines pulled a lot of investors from the United Kingdom. This is a great achievement for Equator Energy Corporation (EEC) as one of the first solar energy company in the Philippines.

Equator Energy Corporation is the first wind energy company that made use of renewable energy sources to provide limitless and uninterrupted energy to the rest of the Philippines. The aim of the company is to increase the awareness of people on the usage of renewable energy.

This aim is already close to its fruition after the statement of the U.K. Embassy in Manila that different firms will be arriving and joining the British trade delegation to look at the possible opportunities in the renewable energy sectors in the country.

The UK-based firms include CiDRA Corporate Services, Lloyd’s Register, Tsors Ltd, Arup, Lucy Switchgear and Gilbert Gilkes & Gordon. These six companies visited the country from September 25 to 27.

According to the statement of lain Mansfield, the director of UKTI in Manila, the Philippines has grown steady and made its mark internationally, especially when it comes to renewable energy. The trade mission is made possible because it will be an instrument for UK companies to evaluate different aspects in the improvement of power generation and energy development. He also said that this will be only one of the pending activities that are created to boost the trade and investment between the country and the U.K.

Mansfield also stated that the trade missions are actually a part of the plan to double trade in the next 5 years since it is already mentioned by Trade Minister Lord Green.

Equator Energy Corporation already started this mission way back in 1996 after Engineer Bernardo F. Fabula, President and Founder of EEC, was inspired by the different benefits of renewable energy sources. Every since, the company has been keeping up with the latest technology around the globe to make sure that the country is getting the same innovation when it comes to the utilization of renewable energy sources.

Also, the country is now on course to produce and double its current solar capacity to 5 MW by the end of 2013. As of now, the current capacity is only 2 MW, but the Philippine Solar Power Alliance (PSPA) is looking at a big increase before the end of the year.

This fact will also cause a big change on the energy industry and EEC will always be there to provide the solar and wind energy needs of the country.

The reduction of prices in the installation of solar and wind energy is also a factor considered by many individuals and it has changed and improved the usage of solar and wind energy in the country.
