Scott Boardman of MN tries to volunteer for events and causes on a regular basis. Spending time at the soup kitchen is one of his favorite ways to give back. “I absolutely love that place. Everyone that works or volunteers there is so full of life. I go there with the intention of helping other people and often times leave feeling like I’ve been helped more,” said Scott Boardman of MN.

Scott Boardman of MN’s day at the soup kitchen started early. Because the kitchen is open for breakfast, Scott Boardman of MN had to be there at 5am to start preparation. He met the other volunteers and staff members and quickly got to work. “There wasn’t any downtime. We immediately got to work preparing the meals and setting up the kitchen. It was a productive day,” said Scott Boardman of MN.

They began serving breakfast at 8am, and Scott Boardman of MN helped prepare the plates. “I love being able to directly interact with the people, so being a server was a great role for me,” Scott Boardman of MN said. “Seeing the joy in those people’s faces was incredible.”

Scott Boardman of MN left with a better appreciation for things he has in his own life. Each time he volunteers somewhere he finds that to be true. “You can’t help but feel grateful for what you have after seeing people with so little,” he said.

When not volunteering, Scott Boardman of MN can be found consulting small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. He has been a consultant for many years and enjoys helping companies become more productive and efficient. Scott Boardman of MN especially enjoys working with small businesses. “I like the feeling of helping someone who is truly in need of your services. I guess you could say that’s why I like volunteering at the soup kitchen,” Scott Boardman of MN said.
