The Dom Perignon Champagne, produces more than 2 million bottles of vintage per year. The latest release of Dom Perignon has been of the 2004 vintage, and the Dom Perignon Rose is of the 2003 vintage.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the wine, often sold at auctions, had set a new record of wine selling in Britain, in 2010, with the selling the Dom Perignon Champagne Rose (Rose Gold), for £35,000, at the Westbury Hotel, after the screening of the film Boogie Woogie.

In the past, two Dom Perignon 1921 bottles were sold in the US for $24,675. In 2008, there was also a sale of three bottles, of the Dom Perignon Oenotheque, for $93,260. Two bottles of the famous Dom Perignon Rose(1951), was also sold for $93,260.

The Dom Perignon Rose, also set the world record of the most expensive wine auction, when 30 bottles of the wine were sold at an auction in Hong Kong, for US $170,641.

The wines of Dom Perignon are always vintage. Produced by the Moet and Chandon Company, the champagne is one it’s most prestigious.

Dom Perignon, was named after the Benidictine monk, who was a pioneer in the making of Champagne wines and wine making techniques, such as blending and balancing. He had introduced corks to seal the bottles and the use of thicker bottles to better the shipment of wine.

The Dom Perignon 1921 wine was first sold to the Simon Bros and Co. after which it soared in the market place. The Dom Perignon champagne was also famously used at the wedding of Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles. The vintages of the Dom Perignon range from 1921 to 2004, and have become a favourite of the wine lovers across the globe.
