Rauch Precision has specialized in the Hog Saddle tripod for a very long time, and they have stood by these products over the past few years. "A shot is rarely taken in the prone." This is the Hog Saddle motto and it is true whether you are in the military, law enforcement, or are a hunter.

Speaking at a recent convention, a spokesperson from Rauch Precision said: “We want all our clients to have the very best experience when it comes to long-range shooting and for that, of course, a top-notch tripod is necessary, but what is even more important is understanding how to shoot with a tripod and how to take the very best shot. That is why we have developed our comprehensive tripod-focused course.”

The ability to take a shot regardless of the terrain is a powerful tool to have. The Hog Saddle Course offered by Rauch Precision is designed to familiarize the individual with the fundamentals of shooting off of a tripod. All of the training is based on real-world scenarios to set the shooter up for success. All courses are taught by prior Marine Corps Scout Snipers who have intimate knowledge of tripod shooting supported with real-world experience.

The course runs over two days with five hours of classes. The classes include the principles of shooting, the fundamentals of supported shooting, tripod shooting, rapid deployment as well as training philosophy and development. The course also includes live fire training which encompasses 7.75 hours and 200 rounds. Students will learn how to take a shot from a tripod while standing, kneeling, and sitting. They will also be undertaking bullseye drills, rapid deployment drills, and rapid deployment evaluations. The minimum course size is 6 students and the choice of the training facility is up to you or can be negotiated by Rauch Precision and the range/facility fees will be added to the overall course cost. At the moment, the Hog Saddle Tripod course offered by Rauch Precision costs $700 per student and includes a tripod, Pig Saddle, and SS Loophole Sling. Training is also available without the purchase of a tripod, Pig Saddle, and SS loophole sling. The price for this training is $435 per student. The Hog Saddle Tripod Course requires classroom facilities and a range with a minimum of 300 yards.
