Women’s network honors RBC executive Zabeen Hirji.

Zabeen Hirji has been inducted into the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) Hall of Fame as a three-time winner of its most powerful women award. She is one of just 88 women in Canada to achieve this recognition for her achievements in the business community.

WXN is an organization of female executives who have banded together to provide networking and mentoring opportunities as well as personal and professional development programs for women in pursuit of success in the business world. The organization, which was founded in 1997, recognizes the achievements of women who have advanced within the business community.

In addition to recognizing these achievements, WXN also promotes diversity in the workplace, which is an issue that Hirji has championed for many years.

Among her many volunteer roles; Zabeen Hirji is currently the co-chair of the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC), where she works to improve the integration of skilled immigrants into the workplace. Other factors contributing to the receipt of this award include her position as a member of the DiverseCity Steering Committee, vice-chair of the Capital Campaign for the Women’s College Hospital Foundation, and her 2005 appointment as a Fellow of Centennial College as a leader in national diversity.

Zabeen Hirji currently holds the position of the Chief Human Resources Officer at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), which is the largest bank in Canada and one of the top 15 banks in the world. She also has responsibility for brand, corporate communications, and citizenship. Hirji is also a member of the bank’s 8-member executive committee.
