In 1994, Deborah Burzotta graduated from Mercer University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She graduated with Cum Laude honors, which has set the scene for her successful career in the pharmaceuticals industry. Located in Macon, Georgia, Mercer University is a private co-educational university. It was founded in 1833, and has since expanded to four campuses: the main campus in Macon, and satellite campuses in Atlanta, Savannah, and Columbus. The Columbus campus is the most recent campus, as it was established in 2012 as a sub-campus for the School of Medicine. Despite its small student body, Mercer University is one of Georgia’s most prestigious universities. In addition to outstanding academics, Mercer University also hosts NCAA Division I sports teams, offers a variety of extracurricular activities, and its main campus in Macon has been recognized as one of the United States’ most beautiful college campuses.

Before attending Mercer University, Deborah Burzotta completed a pre-pharmacy program at Western Kentucky University. She then transferred to pharmacy school at Mercer University.

The decision to attend Mercer University was an easy one to make for Deborah Burzotta. She explains, “Of all the schools I looked at, Mercer University had the best program. This really sold the school for me.” The university’s College of Pharmacy was ranked on the top five private pharmacy schools list by US News and World Report. With such prestige, it comes as no surprise that Deborah Burzotta was interested in the program. The program proved to be a success for Deborah Burzotta – she is now a successful pharmacist. She is the current Area Pharmacy Operations Manager at Kaiser Permanente. Deborah Burzotta has worked for Kaiser Permanente’s office in Atlanta, Georgia since 1996, and is celebrating her seventeen year anniversary this year.
