Unlike many professionals in her field, Sloane Pellegrini did not originally set out to become and ESL teacher. She had always wanted to be an English Literature professor at an established university in the United States, and use her summers to travel. When she realized that she still had a long way to go before getting to that point in her career, Sloane Pellegrini started to seek out other options where she could both teach and be an avid world traveler. What she found was the opportunity to teach English as a second language to private school students in South Korea. That first ESL contract hanged her life, and enabled her to travel across four different continents while making the necessary income to supplement an adventurous life while still having some room for savings.
After her contract ended in South Korea, Sloane Pellegrini ended up exploring the rest of the Asian continent, going contract-to-contract in other countries. She taught in Thailand, China and Japan, and gained valuable experience from each. Years later, she returned to the large continent to teach in United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Sloane Pellegrini also covered lots of ground in South America, where her fun expenses often exceeded her income and forced her to improvise in order to enjoy all that was surrounding her. She seemed to have no problem with it, considering the extended and fruitful stays she had in Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
On her way back to the United States, Sloane Pellegrini stopped in Mexico and worked there for six months at a university in the town of Chihuahua. After leaving there, she returned to her home of San Mateo, CA for a short time before landing a job at a small ESL school in New York City.
After working in the Big Apple for some time, Sloane Pellegrini landed the ESL job of her dreams. She had always wanted to live in Spain, especially after spending her time with other Hispanic cultures in South and Central America. She finally got that chance, and her career took a more comfortable shift as she gained the experience to tailor her job to meet more of her personal needs. Now a seasoned teacher and traveler, Sloane Pellegrini is proud of the life she has lived.
