Mackenzie Parrish, University of Tampa student, has been in the National Society of High Scholars for five years. A high school achiever, Mackenzie Parrish gained acceptance to the National Society of High Scholars in 2008. Mackenzie Parrish has also been in the National Honor Society since 2009, and she appeared on the “Who’s Who in High English” list by the United States Achievement Academy in 2009 as well. Of her high school academic excellence, Mackenzie Parrish stated, “I attribute my college acceptance to my academic achievements in high school.” Mackenzie Parrish has also been recognized for her community involvement, including volunteer hours at the Safety Harbor Neighborhood Family Center and Clothes to Kids.

The National Society of High Scholars is a prestigious group recognizing top academic achievers from high schools internationally. Its mission is to connect young scholars with one another and to provide resources to further their achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service. Members of the National Society of High Scholars remain in the society throughout college, attending events and receiving monthly publications with resources about college opportunities and scholarships. The National Society of High Scholars is a group filled with academic excellence, requiring above-average grades and standardized test scores. The society accepts students who score 1750 or above on the SAT, 200 or above on the PSAT, 26 or higher on the ACT, a 4 or higher on any AP exam, a 5 or above on any IB exam, a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher, or the top 10% rank in class. The National Society of High Scholars prides itself on high standards for academic achievement, and it boasts students who are both intelligent and community oriented.

Mackenzie Parrish’s family is extremely proud of her academic accomplishments.
