One of the organizations that Elizabeth Diefenthaler plans to support both financially and with her own time are the local and national chapters of the SPCA. The SPCA, or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, has been operating since it was first started in 1824 in England. The SPCA works nationally and at the local level to help spread awareness about animal cruelty, as well as to support animal rescue/adoption and responsible ownership of pets.

Elizabeth Diefenthaler is committed to helping end animal cruelty in the United States. The SPCA’s main focus is to get animals that are being abused away from their abusive owners, and into the homes of owners who will love and care for them. Elizabeth Diefenthaler believes in donating her time and money to support such a worthwhile cause. “I really support the work that the SPCA does,” says Elizabeth Diefenthaler. “Their main goal is to prevent animals from being abused and neglected.” Being responsible for a pet means that you are responsible for another life, and that is a job that should be taken seriously. Elizabeth Diefenthaler believes in responsible pet ownership.

Additionally, Elizabeth Diefenthaler plans to support the efforts of The Humane Society in the US. This group focuses on a lot of issues but they make a strong effort to promote a reduction in animal cruelty, as well as improving the training and education of pet owners. This way, pets can have a better life when they are adopted or rescued.

As a current dog owner, Elizabeth Diefenthaler understands that pets are not emotionless creatures that can't feel pain or have problems.
