CertBlaster launches The CertBlaster A+ practice tests aimed at helping the candidate understand discreet questions and grasp the logic behind these questions so they can succeed at the IT certification exam.

[PARK CITY, 05/02/2016] – When CompTIA released the new A+ exam 220-901 geared towards hardware it decided to include a type of Performance Based Questions (PBQ). This question type is particularly well suited to test the student’s mastery of A+ Exam Objective 1.9 “Given a scenario, select the appropriate components for a custom PC configuration, to meet customer specifications or needs.” Below example of the treatment of such a question is taken from the CertBlaster A+ practice test product suite.

Understanding CompTIA sub-objective 1.9

The scenario that sub-objective 1.9 puts the candidates in is one where they are asked to perform a custom PC configuration based on customer specifications or needs. In our example we are looking at a question in which the candidate is asked to configure a workstation to be used for CAD/CAM design work.

A+ Performance Based Question in CertBlaster

From the parts available the candidates would have to demonstrate that they know how to choose the components that meet the requirements. By dragging the labels to the correct motherboard location they demonstrate the knowledge to assign each component to its logical “home” on the motherboard. In the left pane is a list of components. On the right is a motherboard with highlighted locations, these are the target areas. From there the candidates go to work “configuring” this machine.

The key to get it correct in this example taken from CertBlaster is to understand A+ sub-objective 1.9. Used correctly and known properly sub-objective 1.9 will serve as the candidate’s virtual answer grid. Under this CompTIA objective the three main requirements for a CAD/CAM design workstation are:

- A Multicore processor
- High-end video
- Maximum RAM

With that in mind the selections that has to be made for this workstation become clear. For a more detailed step by step explanation of this question see the CertBlaster YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtwTKU0zNug).

The CertBlaster A+ practice tests aim not only at helping the candidate understand discreet questions but also grasp the logic behind these questions so that they may be able to generalize their knowledge and so succeed at the exam even if there are minor detail differences in the next question bank. Having said that the CertBlaster A+ practice test product suite for A+ exam 220-901 does contain in excess of 550 practice questions. When it comes to practice tests quantity is not in opposition to quantity but is its ally. Because we all know that “practice makes perfect” more questions makes for more and therefore better practice. Additionally, the more questions there are the less of a factor rote memorization (the enemy of all good test prep) will be. For more information, visit http://www.certblaster.com.
