A new clinical trial demonstrates that injection of stem cells found in bone marrow directly into the heart muscle of patients with severe ischemic heart disease improves heart function.

 
A new clinical trial demonstrates that injection of stem cells found in bone marrow directly into the heart muscle of patients with severe ischemic heart disease improves heart function.Ischemic heart disease is the #1 cause of death for both men and women in the US.

Previous studies have shown that mesenchymal stromal cells can stimulate regeneration in tissues including heart muscle and this study offers additional confirmation in humans that stem cell treatment can stimulate growth of new blood vessels and heart muscle.
