A new solutions based transit van is being presented by Ford Motor Company for 2014 and Santa Monica Production is proud to be involved in the photo shoot as the service production company for BPH Productions London for this new model which is new and exciting and being rolled out all over Europe.
The location scouts did a magnificent job picking out this modern yet historic city, much like the Ford Transit courier which has its roots firmly imbedded in Ford’s history and their values, to its modern twist on configuring a work truck. Spain’s northern coast was also considered for the shoot, but weather conditions and production costs sent them to the Southern Coast.

The hunt for the perfect location began in November, with shooting scheduled for the 2nd week of December. That is pretty aggressive, and the location scouts had their work cut out for them. Malaga turned out to be the perfect spot, and when the permits, and approvals were obtained, Santa Monica Productions was on to props, and models and all the other work that goes into a shoot of this magnitude.

Malaga boasts the 6th largest population in Spain and is the southernmost large city in Europe. The tropical climate made for the perfect backdrop for this photo shoot. The Mediterranean climate of Malaga boasts one of the warmest winters in Europe, with temperatures averaging 17 C (62.6 F) during the day to 7 C (45 F) at night.

This type of weather is generally December through February, which made this the perfect place for a December photo shoot. The 3 day shoot went off without a hitch. This historic city has the air of a Mediterranean port, and boasts breathtaking mountains, and a gourmet culture.

According to Wikipedia, Malaga is one of the oldest cities in the world. Malaga has 3000 years of Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian artifacts. Malaga has been nominated for a candidate for the 2016 European Capital of Culture. The balconied buildings, and quaint pedestrian walkways make this a must see destination in Spain. Malaga’s skyline brings joy to all who are lucky enough to immerse themselves in this cultural Mecca, with tapas bars, new museums, church spires and even a castle. Did you know Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, and their biggest industries are tourism, and technology services? It then stands to reason, that Ford would want to have this innovative van photographed in this timeless and prestigious city.
