Dr. Thomas V. Taylor is an English born surgeon who is celebrating more than three decades in the medical field. His many accomplishments span the globe from the United Kingdom to the United States city of Houston and beyond.

Dr. Thomas V. Taylor was born in the town of Preston, located in the Lancashire province of England. He lived in the quaint town of Longridge with his family until he was eighteen years old. Living in this small village made a big impact on him, especially with generations of Taylor's having planted their roots in the area. Proving that he was adept at many different jobs, he spent time in his youth working in corn mills, a chair making factory, and even as an aide for the Lancashire County Council.

After graduating from secondary school, he attended the University of Edinburgh to study pre-medicine. Shortly afterward, he transferred to the University of Manchester where he earned his undergraduate degree in medicine. During this time, he discovered his love for teaching and mentoring others while completing his surgical residencies. His residency requirements were met through the Manchester Royal Infirmary, the Royal National Orthopedics Hospital in London, and the Royal Post Graduate Medical School in London.

Spending time lecturing in the field of surgery brought him one step closer to his future goals in the medical arena. He served as a guest lecturer for Manchester University, a Senior Lecturer in Surgery for Edinburgh University, and eventually became the Professor of Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine. Since relocating to the United States he has also served as the Clinical Professor of Surgery for the University of Texas and the Clinical Professor of Surgery for the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB).

In the last three decades, Dr. Thomas V. Taylor has provided numerous insights to others in the surgical field. He has spent his life committed to the pursuits of academic surgery and mentoring future surgeons. His career is highlighted by the hundreds of surgical residents that he has tutored and honed to be their very best. He is also the author of eight distinct books.
