David M Daggett CPA is an experienced accountant who specializes in tax planning and tax preparation. He has always been passionate about helping others and decided to become a tax accountant to combine his two passions. As a tax accountant, he gets to help many businesses and individuals with all their tax needs.

While attending San Diego State University he worked in a local accounting firm in Carlsbad, CA. for two years. After graduating in 1983, he went to work for the then largest accounting firm in the world, Arthur Andersen & Co. He started in the tax department and after one year switched to the Small Business Division performing audits of small to medium sized businesses ($50million to $250million a year businesses). Not what most would consider small businesses but at Arthur Andersen, those were the type of companies that were considered small since they audited a vast number of public companies.

In 1985, Deloitte & Touche (formerly Deloitte, Haskins & Sells) recruited him to work in the Oxnard, CA office of Deloitte. D&T is currently the largest firm in the world. At D&T he worked in the tax department as a tax senior, to begin with. After two years he was promoted to Tax Manager and put in charge of a multitude of clients ranging from government contractors to manufacturers and high net worth individuals. In 1987, he left Deloitte and started his own accounting firm, David M Daggett CPA & Company, CPA. He was blessed that 60% of his clients from Deloitte agreed to go with him and so it enabled him to have a business from day one. In addition, he purchased two accounting firms over the next 13 years to establish a nice practice.

In 1994, his grandfather passed away and asked him to take over his business which was a law enforcement equipment distribution business named F. Morton Pitt Co. The company was losing 10% per month and over the next 5 years, David M Daggett CPA was able to build the business back up to being 10% profitable and ended up selling the company 5 years later. He is now a successful accountant.
