INDIAN STOCK MARKET
The 50-share Nifty index managed to rally as much as 36 points in trade on Wednesday to hit its fresh lifetime high of 8398.45 and is on track to hit its next crucial psychological level of 8400.

The S&P BSE Sensex surged as much as 162 points in trade to hit a fresh record high of 28072.90, led by gains in ICICI BankBSE 1.16 %, Tata Motors, HDFC, ITC and TCS.

The market continued to trade at record high on Wednesday. The 50-share NSE Nifty touched the 8400-mark led by banks and auto stocks, up 36 points to 8398.65. The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 173.24 points to 28083.30. About 1324 shares have advanced, 745 shares declined, and 67 shares are unchanged.

• Indian ADRs ended mostly lower on Tuesday.
• In the banking space, ICICI Bank gained 1.52 percent at USD 58.87.
• HDFC Bank was down 0.31 percent at USD 51.65.
• In the IT space, Infosys shed 0.84 percent at USD 67.19.
• Wipro slipped 1.85 percent at USD 12.23.
• In the other sectors, Tata Motors declined 1.05 percent at USD 46.05.
• Dr Reddy’s Laboratories was up 0.27 percent at USD 55.95.
