I cannot think of anyone that is excited about moving into an assisted living facility, nursing care facility, or with their children.

I cannot think of anyone that is excited about moving into an assisted living facility, nursing care facility, or with their children. People want to stay in the homes and in their community for as long as possible and aged home care allows this to happen. In home aged care provides people with the assistance they need so they do not have to leave the home they love until they are ready.

In home aged care professionals come to the elderly citizens home to help them do the things it has become hard for them to do. These professionals provide support and assistance in all of the activities of daily living that a person must do. These activities include bathing, walking, getting dressed, getting their meals, taking their medications, getting their mail, and keeping their home tidy.

Aged home care prevents a person from being prematurely enrolled in nursing homes. As a person gets older they become more fragile, their bones break easier, and they sometimes they can be forgetful. A lot of elderly people are moved into nursing facilities because they have taken a fall and become injured, or they are becoming forgetful. People who are placed into these facilities before they need to be often become depressed and they lose the will to live. In home aged care can support your loved one with their day to day activities and allow them remain independent for longer.

A lot of the in home aged care patients live longer than they would have if they had been forced to leave their houses to go somewhere else. All of the aged home care patients live more independent, private, and productive lives than the individuals that go to live in nursing facilities. This is not to say that nursing facilities are bad places, but they are institutions. In an institution the patients are all treated the same, and they all are encouraged to be less active than they were when they were free and on their own.

In an institution someone tells you when to eat your meals, when to shower, when to go to bed, when visitors can come, when you can leave, and you are removed from the community you love. Aged home care allows you to remain in control of your life and still have someone close by in case you need assistance. Most families are not equipped to care for an elderly loved one so they need to find alternatives. Families can mean well but often plan dramatic changes that an elderly person will resist.

Growing old is not pleasant, but with a little support your elderly loved one can age with dignity and continue to enjoy much of the parts of their life that they love.
