Either if they are in a relationship or not, users nowadays feel overwhelmed by the need to check in multiple places what's going on in their friends' lives.

According to a survey realized by Harris Interactive and ordered by Mylife.com, 40% of the adult population in the United States would rather spend a night in jail, go to the dentist for a root canal, run a marathon or even clean the showers at their local gym rather than give up on the social media accounts. The research was conducted online and it included 2037 U.S adults.

Another result of the study showed that 62% of the respondents are afraid of missing out important news or updates if they don't check their social media feeds on regular basis. The number increases to 72% if we're talking about single people, that aren't involved in a relationship. That means that people who are looking for a partner care more about their social life than those who already have one.

That makes sense because being in a relationship takes a lot of your time (going to the movies, taking dinner at different restaurants, etc.) and switches your focus on more important things. On the other side, being single means you have more free time to take care of your social media profiles. Besides that, there is a whole category of social networks dedicated to singles: dating sites.

Either if they are in a relationship or not, users nowadays feel overwhelmed by the need to check in multiple places what's going on in their friends' lives. It is for those users that Mylife.com has launched a new service called the MyLife Social App and Dashboard.

MyLife CEO, Jeff Tinsley, declared that the "new service helps people manage all their social media feeds and emails in a single place, removing the need to switch between websites just to keep up". At the moment, users can link their Gmail, Yahoo, AOL and Hotmal accounts, as well as their Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn profiles. He also said that they will soon add support for Pinterest and Tumblr.

The Social Dashboard is available on the Web as well as on mobile phones that run either Android or iOS.
