Los Angeles, CA (July 25, 2014) – Uproar Entertainment (http://www.uproarcomedycd.com/) is pleased to announce the upcoming release of their newest comedy CD, “It’s A Lifestyle”, by the hilarious Tony Baker.

Tony is an award-winning “smooth jazz” comedian, one that delivers self-effacing stories that his audiences can relate to. He is a mid-westerner (Michigan and Chicago), so he owns those grass-roots of everyday America and can legitimately poke fun at them.

In his own words, Tony’s style of comedy “consists of stories from my life, [and] observations from everyday life. I talk about my mom, dad, brothers, my kids, my love of food and I'll talk about movies, cats & dogs, bees, hornets, ants, spiders. I'm all over the place.”

Tony says he was influenced by Sinbad, Damon Wayans and Seinfeld, with a little of Cosby thrown in. He remembers as a kid watching the “G-rated” comedy of Sinbad while his Mom was around, and then moving over to the edgier comedy of Wayans when she wasn’t. He feels that it rounds out his style of looking at the hilarity of every life and what happens to all of us.

Tony is also a father, and as some of us know there is great humor in what happens with our families. Tony recently talked about his 14-year old son and his requests for a gym membership and the possibility that he’ll “take me out”. That is the talent of Tony, to share those experiences that everyone can relate to and laugh at.

TonyBaker’s “It’s A Lifestyle” was recorded at theComedy Underground inSeattle, WA over the weekend of May 8-10, 2014.

About Tony Baker
Born Anthony C. Baker in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Tony and his family quickly moved back to Chicago where he was raised on the south side. His passion for film started at a very early age and stayed with him throughout his life. While attending New Mexico State University his creative ideas were brought to the forefront while writing and directing films with his colleagues just for the love of it. His comedic skills developed while hosting pageants, talent shows, and fund-raising events on the NMSU campus.

Tony grew up watching comedians Damon Wayans and Sinbad and always knew he wanted to try stand-up. He immediately fell in love with it at his very first open mike night at the Ha Ha Café in North Hollywood, CA and the rest is history. His comedy can be described as part storytelling and part observational. He draws inspiration from everyday occurrences and stories that have happened throughout his life.

You can currently catch Tony Baker on stage as a paid regular at The World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood and he has performed in comedy clubs around the world. He has also been seen on Comedy Central, Starz, and Aspire. Tony has won The International San Francisco Comedy Competition, Uncle Clyde’s Comedy Competition, LA’s Funniest Comic, and been a semi-finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival. He was also a finalist in NBC’s Stand Up Diversity Showcase & Tour.
