FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The team of Lilian Raven and Sophie Cassell came up with an interesting crowd funding campaign on the fund raising platform of Indiegogo.com. This initiative is called, “Bringing Sewing Back into schools and communities”. This campaign has started on 22nd October and expected to be continued till 21st December.

The initiative is taken up to fund a program that is designed to educate children with sewing methods. Kids are going to get the opportunity to learn the art of sewing, through this initiative, through different after school programs, and programs in churches, community centers etc. A member, associated with this initiative states that, “Sewing is almost a dying art in this era. This art form is being replaced by several other modern art and hobby forms. However, this is a very basic, durable and important art form that every person should learn, from the childhood to adulthood. This is why; we came up with this campaign with the aim to empower children with the art of sewing.”

This program would need at least 6 cutting machines, 30 chairs and 6 pop up tents and a vehicle to make this initiative mobile. The team is going to accumulate the funds for all these, through this amazing campaign. The goal of this campaign is to gather a monetary support of at least $10,000. On the other hand, contributors can get the opportunity to get amazing rewards, by contributing to this campaign. The amount of contribution can start at just $1 for this good cause. From $15, donors get rewarded. The type of the reward would certainly vary on the basis of the amount, one is contributing. Those, who contribute $1000, would get the opportunity to earn Singer Stylist sewing machine. And I pledged sticker, would be given to the contributors, who support the campaign with just $15.

People are found to be really excited with the overall idea of this initiative. Recent contributors of this campaign states “Wow, this is so needed. Home Economics was an important part of school when I was growing up. It’s sad that the kids these days are missing out. Good luck with your project.

I am really happy to know that someone has at least taken out the time to think about it. This is why; I could not restrain myself from contributing. This is certainly one of the good causes. I would ask everyone to donate to it.”
