Barry Weir helps mobile homes thrive in a growing populous.

Barry Weir has been heavily involved in the development and maintenance of mobile home communities for most of his professional life. He started with building the homes themselves, creating spectacular designs that were repeatedly appealing to the eye and full of creative and aesthetic functionality. Inspired by his past work on remodeling castles, each of Barry Weir’s mobile homes enjoyed amounts of spaciousness and luxury that were often not associated with that particular type of house.

The designs were so impressive and sold at such a fast rate, it made sense to start forming communities out of them. That’s when Barry Weir decided to start building mobile home backs in the late 1970’s, a business that boomed quickly through his reputation for being a responsible, ambitious and trustworthy property manager.

At the time, all his parks were put in a freehold holding company and later leased to a trading company. Now, those leases are up and, like at many other mobile home developments, the residents of Barry Weir’s were faced with potential homelessness at no fault of their own. Well Barry Weir came back to defend his residents through providing crucial contributions to legislation and getting them effectively re-housed.

The issue eventually called for amendments to the original Mobile Homes Act of 1983, which had left out crucial precautions to a developing future that harbors growth in industry and populous. The changes apply only to permanent mobile home residents and do not include legislation for vacation or seasonal houses. The Act is designed to set forth new rights and responsibilities to mobile homeowners when it comes to the stationing of their units. Barry Weir spearheaded the Mobile Homes Act of 2013 as the authority behind the pushing of this legislation in order to ensure that proper measures were taken to protect mobile homeowners from future issues as the protagonists potentially grow more numerous and influential.

Barry Weir is glad that Scottish lawmakers and he could agree on such pivotal legislation. Not only is it crucial to the protection of the individuals in these communities, but also to the civil engineers and future business owners of these areas. And even in his retirement, Barry Weir continues to be a highly influential figure in mobile housing development.
