Michael Hamilton-Jones is proud to announce over 35 years as a woodworking craftsman in the New York area. From a young age, Michael Hamilton-Jones enjoyed creating projects out of wood and other materials. This passion has helped Michael Hamilton-Jones create a successful career as a woodworking professional.

“I have always considered woodworking more of an art form, rather than a profession. For me, wood is the most beautiful medium, and it allows me to create custom pieces of furniture. I consider every project I work on to be important and unique,” says Michael Hamilton-Jones. These days, Michael Hamilton-Jones uses his extensive woodworking experience to create unique furniture for clients in the New York area.

Michael Hamilton-Jones got his start as a craftsman after receiving professional training at AJ&T Models, a specialized firm on Long Island. At AJ&T Models, Michael Hamilton-Jones learned both the art of woodworking and architectural model building. He was also able to work alongside many well-known architectural firms in Manhattan in the 1970s and 1980s. These experiences gave Michael Hamilton-Jones the opportunity to work on the architectural models for many iconic New York buildings, such as the Elizabeth Arden building and the World Trade Centers.

The experiences Michael Hamilton-Jones had in architectural model making helped launch his career as a successful craftsman. However, Michael Hamilton-Jones realized his true passion was in woodworking. He began seriously pursuing a career in building custom furniture. After establishing himself as a talented woodworker, Michael Hamilton-Jones was able to open his own shop on Long Island in the 1990s.

Since the 1990s, Michael Hamilton-Jones has been the Master Craftsman at MHJ Custom Woodworking on Long Island. Michael Hamilton-Jones is able to use his expertise to create beautiful and unique custom furniture for clients in the greater New York area. Some of the projects Michael Hamilton-Jones works on include wall units, kitchen cabinets, desks, and bedroom furniture, among other creations. Each piece of furniture that Michael Hamilton-Jones creates is both unique and of very high quality.
