Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano is a hotel magnate and avid traveler. He has recently used his travel experience to reach out to inner-city students.

Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano has been an avid traveler for years. Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano has also become a top name in the hotel and hospitality industries across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. These experiences have helped Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano develop empathy for various types of people. Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano recently traveled to the inner city of Harlem to share his experiences.

Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano believes travel can break down several barriers that people otherwise experience. For example, Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano is a bilingual speaker of both English and Spanish. Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano used this to share with Harlem students the importance of bilingual education. “Languages are all around you and can help you to understand other cultures as valuable,” Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano said.

Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano also spoke with the Harlem middle and high school students about the empathy travel creates. Both domestic and foreign travel can expose kids who are used to one way of doing things to new worlds, Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano believes. Seeing that others don’t live the way one is used to can incite questions, knowledge, and new friendships. Traveling also helps grow empathy and mercy for those who may be living in poverty or otherwise struggling in life.

Gonzalez’ presentations contained many amusing and heart-wrenching stories from his travels to various nations. Some of his trips have taken him to places like Haiti and the Dominican Republic, where abject poverty is the norm. He has also seen the devastating effects of a struggling economy in some U.S. and Puerto Rican cities. Thus, Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano encourages students to further their educations as much as possible to rise out of poverty or related hardships.

Gonzalez is passionate about the tourism industry. He explained to the Harlem students that being a hospitality worker involves much more than running a hotel. It involves getting to know new people every day and making sure their needs are met with patience, promptness, and a good attitude. According to Jerry Gonzalez of Venezolano, these and other positive traits are the ones that keep guests of any kind coming back a second time.
