Tyler Kinnerup is a member of the Roman Catholic Church and has been involved in church services and activities since a young age. This year he celebrates six years as a certified Eucharistic Minister.

Tyler Kinnerup’s involvement with the Roman Catholic Church traces back to his early childhood. At just eight years old, he became the youngest member at Brophy Chapel’s history to read aloud from the Bible during a service. After this, he started to serve as a lector for mass services at both Brophy Chapel and another local church, the St. Francis Xavier Parish. In 2007, Tyler Kinnerup took the next step in his spiritual life when he became a certified Eucharistic Minister. This year, Tyler Kinnerup is proud to announce six years of serving as a Eucharistic Minister.

Tyler Kinnerup has always been a regular churchgoer, and maintains a strong sense of faith. He maintains close involvement with church related activities, whether religious services or other activities such as volunteering and community service. As far back as he can remember, Tyler Kinnerup has been keenly interested in participating in religious services. He explains, “My experiences with being a lector for mass services inspired me to become certified as a Eucharistic Minister.”

Tyler Kinnerup knows that his role in services is an important one. “My job,” he explains, “is to give the Eucharist- or the bread and wine- during services.” He enjoys serving in this role, as he is able to do direct hands-on work with a key aspect of his faith. “I feel honored to be able to perform this task,” says Tyler Kinnerup. Indeed, the role of the Eucharistic Minister cannot be filled by just anyone. The position requires an individual of faith who is committed to the task, which makes Tyler Kinnerup perfectly suited for the role.

When Tyler Kinnerup received the minister certification in 2007, he had not yet graduated from high school. “It wasn’t a decision based on my chronological age, but in the maturity and passion that I felt,” he says. To achieve any sort of certification as an adolescent is impressive, particularly those that fill important roles such as the Eucharistic Minister. Tyler Kinnerup plans to continue with his Eucharistic work, as it is something that he truly enjoys and has positively impacted his life.
