Tom Brough of Chicago says there is a difference between financial advisors and brokers

Tom Brough of Chicago is the President of Brough Investment Advisors, an independent Registered Investment Advisor group he formed in 2009.

He is a graduate of DePaul University and has been a financial advisor since completing his undergraduate studies and getting his degree in 1993. He is also a hedge fund manager who currently manages the Hedge Access Group's portfolio of funds, and a licensed life insurance agent.

"I'm a financial advisor who is a strong believer in low cost investment management," he says. "However, I also give clients access to unique private money managers that they normally would not have access to, because of their high minimum investments."

Tom Brough of Chicago says that the mission of Brough Investment Advisors is to provide each of the firm's clients with a positive, long-term investment experience. He also wants to provide an advisor relationship that is built on personal trust, and the integrity of the entire company. An investment advisor, he says, has a responsibility to each client to provide them with sound investment advice, and to always act in the best interest of the client.

Investing money can be a tricky matter, and Tom Brough of Chicago says it should probably not be done without the guidance of a professional. He says that there is a difference between an advisor, such as himself, and a broker. An advisor is legally obligated to act in the best interests of a client. A broker, on the other hand, does not have this obligation. The advice of a broker is going to be appropriate to the situation, he says, but it will not necessarily in the client's best interest, in the broadest sense of that phrase.

Tom Brough of Chicago says that most people who invest in the stock market do so through mutual funds. And he understands that many clients rely on the advice they get from financial advisors such as himself. A good Registered Investment Advisor is going to explain investment options in terms of the overall goals and objectives of each client, and review these on a regular basis.

Tom Brough of Chicago says that Brough Investment Advisors are always working to improve what the y do, and are committed to earning and keeping the trust of each of their clients.
