Robert Rowels believes in the democratic process and has been proud to represent the Democratic Party at the caucus in Toledo, Ohio. Robert Rowels was the youngest member of the African American democratic caucus. The Democratic Caucus works with every member of the House of Representatives who is a Democrat to help achieve consensus among the members. Robert Rowels and the other members of the caucus aim to bring their ideas and goals to the forefront and ensure that members have the tools they need to accomplish these goals. The Democratic Caucus is the only subgroup in the House of Representatives to which every Democrat is a member.

As part of the caucus, Robert Rowels was responsible for helping to nominate and elect the House Democratic Leadership and for approving committee assignments. The caucus members are also responsible for making and enforcing party rules, and serving as a forum to develop and communicate party policy and legislation.

As the youngest member of the African American Democratic Caucus, Robert Rowels was able to bring fresh perspectives to the party. “I am honored to have been chosen as the youngest member of the African American democratic caucus in Toledo, Ohio. I have always believed in fighting for others. That is why I was in the military and why I chose to study criminal justice at the University of Illinois. I believe that the Democratic Party is the party that supports those who cannot support themselves, and I am proud to be part of this organization.”

The caucus has been playing a major role in efforts to reform the House of Representatives. During the 1960s and 1970s, the caucus was the vehicle for institutional reforms that made party leaders more accessible and accountable. These reforms were also instrumental in increasing the role and responsibilities of rank-and-file members like Robert Rowels. During his time with the Democratic Caucus, Robert Rowels was able to attend the weekly caucus meetings and other official activities. Robert Rowels is proud to be a part of this historic organization that seeks to bring fairness and justice to all people.
