Mothers across the nation are taking a stand against drunk driving and are actively promoting campaigns to end it. Madeline McGartlin is proud to join MADD and champion the mission this organization embraces.

“No one should be a casualty of drunk driving,” says Madeline McGartlin. “I’m a proud member of MADD and want to do what it takes to help eliminate this problem once and for all.” Indeed, the statistics behind drunk driving are astonishing. They’re part of the reason that Madeline McGartlin is involved with the organization and continues to champion its cause.

Since MADD’s foundation in 1980, the number of drunk driving deaths has been cut in half. “This is a testament to the power and influence that this organization has,” says Madeline McGartlin. “I’m glad to be part of this change.” One of the ways that the organization and Madeline McGartlin are making a difference is through awareness campaigns, especially those targeted at young people and younger drivers.

While drunk driving occurs at every age, young adults are the most susceptible to the temptation. “Young people have the tendency to think that they’re invincible,” says Madeline McGartlin. “They take risks without thinking about the consequences.” Madeline McGartlin and other advocates at MADD encourage parents to discuss drunk driving with their children. They also encourage schools to discuss the topic in classrooms, especially before major events such as homecoming or prom.

Madeline McGartlin is encouraged by the progress that MADD has made and hopes that the organization continues to make major strides in the future.
