Juleigh Sitton grew up in Morganton, NC, and graduated Valedictorian of Freedom High School. She grew up taking dance classes and was active in the First Baptist Church of Morganton. During her junior year in Davidson College, she went to UNC at Chapel Hill as an “exchange student”. After graduating from Davidson College, she returned to UNC to pursue her studies in law. After completing law school, Juleigh returned to her hometown and worked as a clerk for the Hon.

Sam J Ervin III, US Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Juleigh Sitton is the Municipal Attorney for the Town of Fontana Dam. Since 2013, she has held the position of Attorney, Consultant for business, municipal and general practice, and in 2014, she became the Municipal Attorney for the Town of Fontana Dam. During her twenty years of being a member of the Burke County Bar Association, she served as President for a term.

From 1987 to 1988, she was the Appellate Clerk for the Hon. Sam J. Ervin III, at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Following this she served as Associate Attorney for Mitchell, Blackwell & Mitchell, P.A. in Valdese, NC, from 1988 to 1994. Her duties here included general practice and medical malpractice insurance defense. From 1994 to 2005 she served as Attorney, Solo Practitioner in Morganton, NC. This was her private business, and she concentrated on general practice, litigation, domestic and criminal law. As a private attorney, she had high-profile clients charged with murder, rape, child molestation and various other serious offenses.

For two years, 2006 to 2008, Juleigh Sitton serves as the Commissioner of the NC Property Tax Commission, which was a quasi-judicial commission that worked with individuals and companies appealing property tax values. Juleigh Sitton went on to become the Consultant, Assistant to the President at Kellex, Inc. Valdese, NC, in 2012. She worked with a special project measuring a productivity multiplier, including helping corporate ownership to take the concept to fruition, securing patent and marketing leadership in NY.
