Harjot Sidhu of Fargo Celebrates Research Success

Since 2010, Harjot Sidhu of Fargo has worked for North Dakota State University’s research department. She has enjoyed much success during her time with the university and has published several papers on her findings.

 
For Harjot Sidhu of Fargo, research is more than just a profession; it’s a way of life. When others shy away from research, Harjot Sidhu of Fargo embraces it! She has worked in research at North Dakota State University since 2010, and recently started a new position as a Research Specialist. During her research career, Harjot Sidhu of Fargo has been largely successful and has published several of her findings in leading journals. She has also presented her research at various conferences, including the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) annual conference.

Harjot Sidhu of Fargo started her research career during the course of her Bachelor of Science degree, when she worked as a Lab Assistant. In this role, she designed and evaluated a fluidized bed for buckwheat plants to study the plants’ antimicrobial treatments. Due to her success with this experiment, she published her findings in the Journal of Food Science.

In 2011, Harjot Sidhu of Fargo accepted a position as a Research Assistant at North Dakota State University. She designed experiment procedures and also supervised the work of undergraduate student researchers. Her studies in this position focused on many areas of plant research, and her work on spectroscopic calibration models for predicting the oil and fat content of canola seeds was recognized and published by ASABE. On this recognition, Harjot Sidhu of Fargo says, “It was so exciting having my work recognized by ASABE. It really reaffirmed that my work is important to the field of agricultural and biosystems engineering.”

In 2013, Harjot Sidhu of Fargo set her sights on a bigger prize and started a job as Lab Technician. She then worked as a Research Associate, and finally settled on the role of Research Specialist. She says, “As I’ve held a lot of different research roles, I feel that I have gained a well-rounded knowledge of the field.”
With her vast knowledge of different professional research roles and her dedication to the field of agricultural and biosystems engineering, Harjot Sidhu of Fargo is sure to enjoy future success in her career. Harjot Sidhu of Fargo feels that the best is yet to come!
