Gary Pizzati, Senior Vice President at Cumulus Media has been chosen to serve as the interim Market Manager for Cumulus in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota and San Francisco, California. Gary Pizzati has worked at Cumulus for 15 years this upcoming October. Gary Pizzati began working for Cumulus in 1998 as the Vice President and Market Manager in Augusta, Georgia. Moving on to managing dual markets, Gary Pizzati also managed Pensacola, Florida and Mobile, Alabama. In November of 2005, Gary Pizzati was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President. As interim Market Manager in Minneapolis-St. Paul and San Francisco, Gary Pizzati briefly returns to his beginnings at Cumulus as a Market Manager.

Gary Pizzati is well respected at Cumulus for his dual experience in radio programming and sales management. After graduating from St. John’s University in New York City, Gary Pizzati began his radio career in New Haven, Connecticut. He has also served as a Program Director in Youngstown, Ohio. Gary Pizzati was an Operations Manager in Oklahoma City, hosted a PM Drive slot at Kiss FM in Detroit, Michigan for over five years before moving into sales. In the early 1990s, Gary Pizzati shifted his career to sales at Barnstable Broadcasting in Akron, Ohio before joining Cumulus in 1998.

“As someone who regularly coaches local managers, it’s useful to take on this role again,” stated Gary Pizzati in regard to his interim position as Market Manager. Gary Pizzati is a key player in over 40 Cumulus Markets, where he coaches and develops local managers and sales talent. Gary Pizzati is known as an expert coach, and he is an innovator in sales management. Gary Pizzati was instrumental in developing and implementing the Cumulus “systems” approach, making him an extremely beneficial mentor.
