David Sugarman Calls For Release of American Imprisoned in North Korea

David Sugarman launched #BringBaeBack to help pressure North Korea to release Kenneth Bae

 
David Sugarman is a successful sports agent who founded SugarTime, Inc in 2010. As the agency's Chief Executive Officer he has built it into an elite agency, named the 2012 Small Business of the Year by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.
He is also a political activist who is leading the struggle to free an American imprisoned in North Korea.

Kstarted the #BringBaeBack Social Media campaign to try to win the release of Kenneth Bae, an American citizen who has been held prisoner in North Korea since November of 2012. "I would like more than anything to assist in the release of American prisoner in North Korea Kenneth Bae," he says. "I have been on CNN about seven times, speaking about this."

David Sugarman spoke to the Cable News Network in early 2014 after reports that Kenneth Bae had been moved to a labor camp, in spite of failing health. He made a personal appeal directly to North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un. "Human to human, I'm asking you to release Kenneth Bae," David Sugarman said. "I'm going to take it a step further: If the North Korea government actually needs somebody in North Korea, take David Sugarman. Allow me to go there. I'm younger. I'm healthier. You have released prisoners before, and I'm asking you to release Kenneth Bae."

David Sugarman urges people to follow the #BringBaeBack campaign and to re-Tweet its posts.

His interest in politics has led him to think seriously about a future run for United States Congress. His Facebook page shows him with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and shaking hands with President Barack Obama. "My dream job is to run for United States Congress and make a change in this world," David Sugarman says. "I am not sure if that can ever happen, but I can try."

The 38-year old David Sugarman is well positioned to make a run for Congress, if he decides to do so in the future. He is old enough and is a United States citizen, and he has residency. Those are the only real requirements, according to Article 1 of the United States Constitution. Beyond that, he has demonstrated a desire to devote himself to public service and can has a healthy support network. He has also shown he possesses the necessary people skills, and the ability to articulate his ideas and positions on different issues.

A guiding principle in the life of David Sugarman has been to be the change that he wants to see in the world, and it is one that he has been consistent with throughout his life.
