David Ognibene says Charge Ahead California is an initiative promoting electric vehicles

David Ognibene is proud to announce his support for Charge Ahead California, an initiative aimed at replacing gasoline and diesel powered cars, trucks and buses with clean electric vehicles, in order to reduce their impact on the atmosphere in California and the earth.
David Ognibene lives and works in San Francisco, where he is the Director of Sales and Business Development for his current company. He also a longtime supporter of Environment California, which is spearheading the Charge Ahead California effort. Dirty air from gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, he says, makes tens of thousand of Californians sick each year, and costs billions of dollars in otherwise avoidable health costs.
The objective to Charge Ahead California, says David Ognibene, is to get one million electric vehicles on the roads of California over the next tens years. This, he says, will ensure that all Californians, but especially those in low-income households most affected by air pollution, will benefit from clean, electric vehicles. This will reduce air pollution, improve the public health, and save consumers money at the pump.
David Ognibene is also supporting an Environment California initiative aimed at getting the California Public Utilities Commission to reject a bid by San Diego Gas and Electric to replace a closed nuclear power plant with a new gas powered facility. According to this initiative, the SDG&E plan is an insider deal that would come at a major cost to energy customers, the public health, and the environment.
David Ognibene has been committed to numerous social issues and causes outside of his professional life. After Hurricane Katrina destroyed the City of New Orleans, he aided the New Orleans Relief Fund. And on a global scale, David Ognibene is a regular supporter of the International Red Cross, the United Nations World Food Program, and Doctors without Borders, which assists poverty-stricken people all over the world.
Combining his passions for music and service, David Ognibene has worked with, and is a strong supporter of, Rock the Earth, a program that promotes environmental awareness through fundraising concerts. Rock the Earth focuses on numerous environmental issues, including water quality, surface and underground mining, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, air quality, energy development and extraction, and protecting endangered species.
