As a teacher at a middle school, it has been important for Christopher Smith of South Central to develop his public speaking skills as he is in front of a very active audience all day. Recently, Christopher Smith of South Central was recognized as a professional speaker and was asked to speak at the Indiana Middle Level Education Association State Conference. He has had the opportunity to speak at many different conferences and events around the country focused on education. “I am proud to be able to serve my community as a teacher and administrator in the public school system. Being able to speak at education conferences and forums around the country gives me the broader exposure to help implement new technologies and find out what new advancements in education are being pursued around the country. I want to bring the best back to my students in South Central. I have been cultivating my public speaking skills for many years and am honored that I have been chosen to speak at the Indiana Middle Level Education Association State Conference.”

When teaching people about public speaking, Christopher Smith of South Central’s main piece of advice is to speak with enthusiasm. It is important to keep your audience engaged and interested in what you are saying. Christopher Smith of South Central has been speaking for many years about the state of education in his community and because of his efforts the test scores in his area have dramatically increased.

In addition to speaking at the Indiana Middle Level Education Association State Conference, Christopher Smith of South Central was also asked to speak at Franklin Community High School. Because of his background in education and administration, he was asked to speak to the students about professional learning communities. Christopher Smith of South Central's background and education are the perfect platform for launching his speaking career and promoting his innovative ideas on education. Because of his new career as a professional speaker, Christopher Smith of South Central has had the opportunity to join some of the national speaking associations including the Professional Speakers Association and the National Speakers Association. By working with these associations, Christopher Smith of South Central will have more opportunities to speak about the state of education in his home state of Indiana.
