Using salvaged and recycled components, Problem Solver, Inc. is helping to save office furniture from the landfill and bringing new life to desk chairs, paneling systems and file cabinets.

Raleigh, NC, March 28, 2014 - Each year in the U.S. alone, a whopping 3.1 million tons of discarded office furniture is dumped into our landfills as solid waste. One green minded office furniture company is helping to reduce the huge quantities of solid waste flowing into our overburdened landfills by recycling old office furniture to like-new condition. "When we discovered that around 86% of discarded office content was potentially reusable, we knew that we had to do something to make a difference," said Rob Wiener, President of Problem Solver, Inc., a Raleigh, NC office furniture and furniture parts company founded in 1955. "We had already been repurposing office furniture for over 30 years, but as the problem continued to escalate so did the need to find a better solution."

That's when Problem Solver decided to bring new life to old office furniture and paneling systems, and help save these products from the landfill, by creating an environmentally savvy line of like-new office furniture called Neuli-Re-Manufactured, made from salvaged and recycled components Wiener explained, "Old office chairs can often avoid the landfills by replacing worn arm pads, casters and other parts at a fraction of the cost of an entirely new chair. With a few replacement parts for filing cabinets many can stick around for another generation. Panel systems can be refurbished by swapping out old power strips, end caps and panel trim. In fact, with the right office furniture replacement parts, life could be restored to most office furniture that would otherwise be headed for the landfill."

According to Wiener, the benefits of using Neuli-Re-Manufactured products are that this recycled office furniture looks new, is often more readily available than some new furniture, and is typically priced anywhere from 25% to 75% less than new furniture. Plus recycling old office furniture helps the environment by reducing the growing problem of solid waste.

Wiener says the company's goal is to eliminate much of the waste, reduce energy demands and substitute non-renewable resources with sustainable ones. "We hope to create a world community of office furniture recyclers and end users who appreciate the positive impact that this will have on the environment. In this way, business does not function at the expense of our planet's future."
