Dr. Michael Sved, professor of medicine at the University of Cardiology has been elected for the chair of International Governors of the ACC (American College of cardiology) Assembly. Michael has also participated in over 100 national and international gatherings and symposia as a coordinator, panelist, lecturer and round table chair. Moreover, he has also been at many leadership positions in various multi-national medical institutions.

Being the President of the Inter-American Society of Cardiology, Michael Sved strived to expand the outreach of the organization in order to engage in several non-communicable disease efforts across the globe. He also has a desire to participate in United Nations summits and other joint programs with groups including The Pan American Health Organization.

Recently, at the World Health Assembly, Michael Sved has worked with the ACC for ensuring the passage of key global targets for combating cardiovascular diseases. The ACC recognized Michael’s perspective of border-crossing and he received the 2014 international service award.

For Michael Sved, this border-crossing outreach can provide exemplary benefits for patients across the whole world. This will enable countries to look towards one another idea for shared resources, tools and technology. According to him the biggest challenge is implementation.
