The Swayambhunath is a stupa or a monument located in the hills of Nepal. A great deal of tourists and devotees visit the area almost every day simply to view the glorious Swayambhunath.

 
The Swayambhunath is a stupa or a monument located in the hills of Nepal. This place is considered to be a major historic landmark with its surrounding structures has been thought to be over 2,500 years old. The place is located 70 meters above a mountain on the Ring Road of Kathmandu, 3 kilometers outside the city center. Using its somehow steep location doesn't keep tens of thousands of people from coming into the place. A great deal of tourists and devotees visit the area almost every day simply to view the glorious Swayambhunath.

The stupa or the monument itself has also many neighboring temples and shrine around the region. Here, one can find Tibetan monasteries and also the numerous statues of gods that are different. There's also a woods nearby the Swayambhunath where people love to visit because it is the home of the macaque monkeys. Visitors like to play with all the monkeys and also feed them. Because of these, the temple was known as “monkey temple".

It's also been a favorite by people with a wonderful passion for historical sculptures and fine architectures. Visitors who come to the place even came from far areas only to see the amazing beauty and uniqueness of the place. Although the place demands a fairly steep rise, traffic and devotees are unstoppable in coming here.

The beauty of the Swayambhunath monument is truly remarkable with its location from the top of the mountain which will provide everybody an exciting and enjoyable ride by climbing to the surface itself. An individual may also see here the overwhelming landscape of this Nepal state. Visitors will surely enjoy the fresh wind breeze that will relax them after an exhausting climb.

There are also flower vendors found at the base of the hill where visitors can buy flowers to offer for the gods in the Swayambhunath monument. One's visit here will surely satisfy each whether due to their religious arrangements or just one's Nepal excursion.

People from different places, with any age and no matter what the religion are always seen vising this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since this place is among those things the Nepalese people are known for, an individual has to observe the area and become part of many people who witnessed the very notable and sacred area of the Buddhists. It is certainly worth it!!
