New converters to put older audio equipment to use

Now it is possible to connect your older audio equipment to your new computer by using a RS232 to RS422 converter. The development of the RS232 to RS422 converter has made it possible to use old audio equipment that is still in good condition but cannot be used because it cannot be connected to newer appliances.
The outdated RS232 protocol is now replaced by RS422 protocol. Yet those data devices that have been using the serial Rs232 are left with no choice but to use a RS232 converter so that communication with other devices that use different protocol such as the RS422 protocol is possible. The real use of the RS232 to Rs422 converter is to expand the abilities of RS232 which are limited.
Like all converters the RS232 to RS422 converter is used when one device uses RS232 and the other uses RS422 protocol. The RS232 to RS422 converters are widely used in audio recording studios, radio-broadcasting and editing studios where fine-tuning of produced audio material takes place. The use of RS232 converter is prevalent when remote control is exercised between audio recording apparatus and the recording itself.
The RS232 converter is also called n extender since while using RS232 port, the capabilities are extended to RS422 protocol. Mainly used to facilitate the use of old appliances and devices that have the older RS232 protocol, RS232 to RS422 converters are used mostly to make use of old and new audio appliances together. When a RS232 to RS422 converter is installed, it also helps to protect the devices from voltage fluctuations and ground-loops.

There are many models of the RS232 to RS422 converter. They may come in different sizes and shapes but the primary function of these remains the same; that of extending RS232 properties. Some RS232 to RS422 converters could be unidirectional and others bidirectional. Some RS232 to RS422 converters can have LED lights to show the direction of data-flow and some may not have them A RS232 to RS422 converter can have a DB9 connector and some might function with terminal screw or RJ11 connectors or some other connectors.
Some RS232 to RS485 converters could be powered by an external source of electricity and most of them are port- powered. Most RS232 to RS422 converters can cater to up to 24 modules on both sides of data transfer and the maximum distance between devices can be 800 meters with baud speeds increasing with shorter distances. This is a very useful feature of RS232 to RS422 converters.
Some rs232 rs485 converter could be isolated and some may not be isolated. Isolated RS232 to RS422 converters are more reliable and useful than their non isolated counterparts as they provide additional features of surges and ground-loops protection to devices.
