From August 2008 to June 2009, Lorenzo Esters worked as a Senior Adviser to the President in the Office of the President at the Dillard University which is located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Serving as a Senior Adviser to the President of the Dillard University, he provided leadership for achievement of the administration’s goals and assumed a main role in addressing complex and sensitive issues regarding campus administration to include service on appropriate university committees, advanced the operational and strategic goals of the university; and the management of key initiatives or execution of other duties as delegated by the President, and ensured the completion of tasks assigned by the President to members of the Executive Team.

There are many major accomplishments of Lorenzo Esters as a Senior Adviser to the President such as he provided senior level advice and assistance to the President regarding faculty, staff and student issues—strengthened internal and external communications, improved communication between president and vice presidents by serving as a liaison, served as the president’s appointee to the university accreditation committee, conducted and disseminated studies and carefully reviewed delicate matters pertaining to internal campus administration within all vice presidents’ units, improved the internal review of documents in an effort to offer options to the president for actions and/or board consultation, strengthened team relationships working with the president, designed and facilitated executive team planning retreats, coordinated communication with the chief of staff so that a common body of knowledge existed in all offices to assure smooth communication throughout the organization,

Lorenzo Esters is the Vice President of Student Success and Enrollment Management at Kentucky State University. In the past, he served as the Vice President at the Association of Public and Land-grant Universties, Senior Advisor to the President at Dillard University, Management and Program Analyst at U.S. Department of Education, and Volunteer at Salvation Army Centre of Hope. He attended Morgan State University, Jackson State University, and Rust College.
