Switching careers and companies isn't as odd as it once was. Today, it may be hard to advance your career within the same company. Many professionals find the only way to market their skills is by looking outside their current place of employment. While this may not necessarily be the case for Kyu Hwan Yeo, he did feel it was necessary to change careers twice in order to find the position he was happy with.

"I knew I wanted to work with computers and I was happy performing administrative work," says Kyu Hwan Yeo. He began his professional career after college by working for Sang's Chiropractics & Posture. "I was responsible for minimal IT work. I maintained the office network and billing database but other than that, I just entered in patient information," says Kyu Hwan Yeo.

Before long, he looked for a job that would allow him to practice more advanced IT skills. "I thought I found the perfect job when I was hired by Rexahn Pharmaceuticals, Inc.," says Kyu Hwan Yeo. Much of the work he performed was computer related. He picked up many valuable skills.

"I learned a 3D molecular modeling program and was introduced to two new computer languages thanks to my time with Rexahn Pharmaceuticals," says Kyu Hwan Yeo. He also provided support on Bioinformatics projects and stored chemical compounds into the company's database using the program ChemOffice.

However, Kyu Hwan Yeo wasn't completely satisfied with his work at Rexahn Pharmaceuticals Inc. "I decided I would look for a new position. To help market myself as an IT professional, I took the CompTIA A+ certification exam. I passed and with the certificate, was able to market myself more effectively as an IT professional," says Kyu Hwan Yeo.

Kyu Hwan Yeo was picked up as Administrative Manager at Eddy's International Co. "The company was an international trading company but it offered more opportunity than my previous two jobs," says Kyu Hwan Yeo. Now, Kyu Hwan Yeo performs many tasks of an IT professional with all the responsibilities of an administrative manager too. "I perform web development, I translate, and I maintain service contracts," says Kyu Hwan Ye. He is very happy with his new position.
