HP stellt heute im Rahmen des Mobile World Congress 2016 sein erstes Windows 10 Mobile Smartphone vor, das HP Elite x3. Wie die Gerüchteküche bereits munkelte, will der US-Computerhersteller mit dem Gerät ganz gezielt den Enterprise-Sektor ansprechen. Das Elite x3 soll durch hervorragende Leistung und elegantes Design kombiniert mit Windows 10 Mobile und praktischem Zubehör eine neue Art der Computernutzung ermöglichen.In Zusammenarbeit mit Microsoft und inspiriert durch die Continuum-Funktion von Windows 10 hat sich HP darangemacht, ein Smartphone zu bauen, das alles mitbringt, was für den modernen Arbeitsplatz nötig ist. Das Elite x3 an sich ist ein absolutes High-End-Phablet mit 5,96 Zoll großem AMOLED-Display, das mit 2560 x 1440 Pixel auflöst und durch Gorilla Glass 4 vor Kratzern und Stößen geschützt wird. Angetrieben wird das Gerät von dem neuen High-End-SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, dem satte 4 Gigabyte LPDDR4-RAM und 64 Gigabyte Flash-Speicher zur Seite stehen.

Das Gehäuse des Elite x3 ist 7,8 Millimeter dünn und besteht überwiegend aus Kunststoff, bietet aber unterhalb des Displays eine Zierleiste aus Metall, hinter der sich das Soundsystem verbirgt, welches in Kooperation mit Bang & Olufsen entwickelt wurde. Außerdem ist das Chassis nach IP67-Zertifizierung gegen Staub beziehungsweise Spritzwasser geschützt und übersteht dank Militärstandard MIL-STD-810 sogar einen kurzen Tauchgang (bis zu 30 Minuten in bis zu 1 Meter Wassertiefe).Das 190 Gramm schwere Smartphone wartet auf der Frontseite mit Dual-Stereo-Lautsprechern, einem Iris-Scanner und einer 8-Megapixel-Kamera für Skype-Telefonate auf. Rückseitig befindet sich die 16-Megapixel-Hauptkamera und darunter ein Fingerabdrucksensor. Das Gerät bietet außerdem Dual-SIM-Unterstützung, einen microSD-Steckplatz für Karten mit bis zu 2 Terabyte Speicherkapazität und einen USB Typ-C Anschluss, der mit dem USB 3.0 Standard kompatibel ist. Abgerundet wird die sehr gute Hardware-Ausstattung durch ein LTE Cat. 6 Modem, Dual-Band-WLAN nach 802.11ac, aktive Geräuschunterdrückung sowie Wireless Charging (Qi und PMA Standard).

Das MateBook ist ein elegantes Windows 10 Tablet mit 12 Zoll großem Display, das sich dank passendem Tastatur-Cover auch problemlos mit Microsofts Surface-Produkten vergleichen lässt. Dementsprechend wartet das Gerät mit einem aktuellen Intel Core m Prozessor, bis zu 8 Gigabyte RAM und 512 Gigabyte SSD sowie Fingerabdrucksensor auf. Außerdem wird Stifteingabe unterstützt.
