At Centennial College's School of Advancement, students can attend a program that is designed to prepare them for success in their future educational and career goals.
Among those who may benefit from this Pre Health program are learners who are considering attending college programs such as Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Technician and Transportation; want to explore a science program at college toward their future career goal; wish to acquire academic admission credentials needed to enter college-level science programs; or are seeking science courses required for post-secondary programs and have not finished high school or completed science courses. The offering is open to students who have completed an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or have mature student status (19 years or older).
Unlike other Pre Health programs, this offering includes mathematics and communications in addition to science subjects, such as biology and chemistry. Students also attend cutting-edge training in courses like Computers for Health Care Professionals and Pre-Anatomy and Physiology.
If students complete the two semesters of this Pre-Health science program, they obtain an Ontario College Certificate and, granted that they have an acceptable academic standing, may be eligible to transfer directly into the Practical Nursing or Pharmacy Technician programs at Centennial College.
