After completing a dietetic internship/graduate degree program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, Jamie Yetman Finnicum went on to get a passing rate on the National Registration Exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. This launched her career as a nutrition professional. The passion she has for helping people combined with the know-how she took away from the classroom would contribute greatly to her next move. In the same year of her graduation, Jamie Yetman Finnicum began working at an Ohio State University Extension in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. She served as a Senior Nutrition Program Assistant from 2000 to 2001. Jamie Yetman Finnicum provided nutrition education to low income seniors in the setting of congregate meal sites and senior centers. Jamie Yetman Finnicum taught a six-week course on Senior Nutrition at Cuyahoga Community College.

In the same year, Jamie Yetman Finnicum would also begin working at St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake, Ohio. At St. John West Shore Hospital, Jamie Yetman Finnicum worked as an Outpatient Dietitian providing nutrition counseling for the management of chronic disease. She would finish her job at St. John West Shore Hospital in 2002.

After leaving the hospital, Jamie Yetman Finnicum would continue her career as a dietitian. She began working at Fresenius Medical Care in Raleigh, North Carolina. This has been the longest-lasting career move for Jamie Yetman Finnicum, as she just celebrated her tenth year as a member of the team at Fresenius Medical Care.
