The commission hopes that proposed improvements to the transport network throughout Europe will be part funded by the private sector and that the new infra structure will be completed by 2020

This is great news for the freight industry and anyone involved in European road transport. It should certainly make delivery from the UK to Europe more efficient and so encourage cross border trade.

The core network will provide the 94 European ports with rail and road links. Airports too will be better connected and there is an emphasis on improving bottle necks within the European trasnpost system
"We have to step up our efforts to make sure the core network will be fully operational by 2030, to ensure smooth transport flows for passengers and goods throughout the EU,” said Transport Commissioner VioletaBulc.
