Shenzhen, China-based broker-dealer, Fox Capital Partners has announced a new high-profile hire to spearhead its preparations to expand operations in the Asia Pacific region next year.
The new senior hire is Wei-Yung Li who will join the firm in January initially at its Shenzhen headquarters but, by April, will take up position as Managing Director at the firm’s Shanghai satellite office where he will be responsible for developing the firm’s presence in the institutional investment management market. He joins after a 6 year tour of duty at Haitong Securities.
Fox Capital Partners has been undaunted by the alarming volatility that has characterized China’s main Shanghai and Shenzhen Composites this year and says it remains “committed to driving activity and performance regardless of broader market sentiment”.
“There’s no doubt that the last few months have been something of a roller coaster but we think we’ve seen the nadir in stocks and we expect activity to pick up by the first quarter of next year. With this in mind, rather than emulate some of our competitors who are still licking their wounds, we’re preparing what we think will be a fabulous 2016,” said Nadia Anschler, Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Fox Capital Partners.
Fox Capital Partners says it is under-represented in the institutional investment management market and is targeting an ambitious doubling of funds under management by the 2nd quarter of 2017.
“Recent relaxation of rules governing the assets that insurance companies and pension providers are permitted to hold means there are a lot more institutional investors who need our expertise. We think our track record will stand us in good stead,” said Anschler.
