Many people train to become coaches but end up dropping out of the business due to the doubts they have about themselves or the challenges they face with building a business and the investment it takes to build it.
The thing is, a BIG part of success comes from getting out of our own way and being true to self. Resilience is required to break through challenging times and fall forward as we work out what is our authentic business. We must also understand we are human and be aware of the saboteurs that will come in to stop us from creating what we want to achieve.
The quicker we recognise our areas of power or strength and take full responsibility (100%), and start taking action, rather than focusing on getting everything perfect, the faster we will begin realising our success.
Warren Buffet, a hugely successful investor in stock markets, says he won’t invest in a business unless it has failed at least three times. THREE times! He knows the importance of resiliency. If we give up, we will never know how close to the cusp we may have been to success.
At Empower World, there have been times when we have launched trainings and services that have not been taken up as we hoped, and we've had to cancel or run them knowing they haven't been financially viable. And we've learnt so much from those experiences to support our ongoing success and viability.
Dee Hutchinson, CEO and Founder of Catalyst International, which supports entrepreneurs - more specifically new start-up coaching entrepreneurs - to thrive as an online business/service recommends taking action, even if it’s baby steps. She says, trust and believe in yourself and your vision. If you make errors, take on board the feedback about what worked, what didn't and what to change. Start to notice the opportunities that arise when you review what you are learning.
Rather than wasting time designing a beautiful product no one is interested in and investing your energy into an idea you think will sell: Dee suggests firstly, simply research your target market. Find out about their challenges or what they need or desire to create a product or service they want to invest in.
“I just asked my customers what they wanted (through starting a social media following) and gave it to them. And I’ve been doing that ever since, and it’s been a revelation. It is that simple, it doesn’t have to be hard,” Dee explains.
She says as you start to support your clients, allowing them to recognise the challenges they are experiencing, and working out for themselves what they desire through your support, you attract paying clients.
There are customers out there with needs and your service or product could be exactly what they want, and so you have to create that curiosity to get them to bite. And by receiving customer feedback, allowing them to guide you, all that remains is for you to deliver that service or product to them.
