According to a local payday loan store operator, a new city program must be implemented. This program says that the people of US must move towards banks for loans instead of payday loans. Even credit union is very helpful in this case. "We agree there is a problem with people getting too much money and they can't pay it back," said Rob Tschetter, owner of Cash With Us check cashing and payday loan service at 406 E. North St. But at the same time, Tschetter stated that the new program, Bank On Rapid City, does not provide that very attractive scheme so as to tempt the consumers. "I don't think they realize, they're getting loans to protect themselves from the banks," Tschetter said.
In order to support this statement, the store manager Carissa Weimer said that most of the US customers actually do not have any running account with the traditional banks. Some consumers do not have a bank account only lest they might have to face huge bank overdraft fees. On the other hand some customers are surviving entirely on the paychecks. They go for instant cash loan online only in case of emergency. This was what Carissa Weimer was trying to say.
However on November 14, 2011, the new program called Bank On Rapid City was launched. According to this program customers must be inclined more towards banks and credit unions. This will prevent the customers from being stripped by the rapacious payday loan lenders. Moreover the financial condition of the people will be stable. They will not have to pay high APR also since the bank rates are very nominal. The program was first adapted by San Francisco.
