The process of filling application forms for UP Teachers Eligibility Test (UP-TET) 2018, has been hampered due to a technical snag in the official website www.upbasiceduboard.gov.in. Around four lakh aspirants have applied for the exams since September 18, when the application process started. However, the process has slowed down in the past five days after the website failed to respond even after repeated attempts by the candidates.
"Our every minute counts and here hours are being wasted due to snag in the server. The online form is being filled after several attempts as the server hangs in between or shows error whenever form is submitted resulting in wastage of precious time," said Deepankar Banerjee, an aspirant who tried to fill the form on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday morning but failed. The aspirants have demanded Exam Regulatory Authority (ERA) to fix the server problem at the earliest. ERA officials said that the problem arises whenever the number of applicants goes up.
The ERA has made mandatory to fill application form online. The last date of filling the application form is October 4 till 6 pm while application fee would be accepted till October 5. Earlier in 2015, ERA had extended the date of submission of form after the server developed technical fault during filling of forms of UP-TET. This had gave opportunity to hundreds of aspirants who had failed to apply for the same due to the problem.
