The Centre has allowed aspiring candidates to apply for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam even after the deadline by paying an enhanced fee. Online application process to apply for GATE, based on which IIT and IISs admissions are carried out, began on September 1 and closed on September 23.
During this period, Rs 750 was collected as application fee from differently abled/SC/ST/female candidates while others paid Rs 1,500.
Now, IIT-Madras, the organising institute, has extended the application period till October 1. A fee of Rs 1,250 would be collected from differently abled/SC/ST/female candidates. Others should pay Rs 2,000.
In case of corrections to be made, the online application portal is open from September 27, according to the official website. Exams will be conducted on February 2-3 and 9-10 next year and results will be released on March 16.
